|
|
Hello,
I am trying to measure INL for a 12 bit ADC. With the histogram
method the amplitude and offset of the ideal sine wave matters a lot
to get a good INL.
So, I tried a ramp histogram method. With this method, for 12 bit ADC
we used a linearly increasing voltage source to emulate a ramp. For a
12 bit ADC I used 4096 voltage points initially to get a DNL and then
computed INL from the DNL, the INL looked very bad. So I tried using
just divided the voltage range to a 100 points and INL looked much
better and less than 1LSB. I was hoping they should be nearly the same
except more number of points makes the INL smoother.
What am I missing? I will really appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Neena |

I don't know much about testing ADCs, but Rick Lyons shows
a method in his 'Understanding Digital Signal Processing.'
Maybe this method works better?
