This version fixes the memory leak that Jim Leonard discovered.

No errors this time, but the data is corrupt:

# time pigz --verbose --processes 8 testfile.bin
testfile.bin to testfile.bin.gz

real 1m8.30s
user 8m58.86s
sys 0m5.43s
# gzip --test --verbose testfile.bin.gz
testfile.bin.gz:
gzip: testfile.bin.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error

If you can provide me with an FTP upload directory (use email), I
would be happy to send you the file I'm using for testing...
